MITCH'S POST WORK-OUT PROTEIN SHAKE

A great tasting shake that doesn't resemble liquid chalk!
  • 3/4 Cup Reduced Fat Ice Cream or Frozen Yogurt
  • 1 Scoop Protein Powder
  • 3/4 Cup 1% Milk
  • 1 Tbsp. Glutamine
  • 1 Tbsp. Ground Flax Seed
  • 1 Serving Powdered Multi-vitamin
Directions: Combine all ingredients in a blender and whip until smooth (real tough, huh?)

Nutritional Value (estimated)

  • Total Fat 12 grams
  • Saturated Fat 4 grams
  • Carbs 42 grams
  • Dietary Fiber 2 grams
  • Protein 46 grams
Tips: Fat content will be even lower with frozen yogurt and skim milk. Grind up a single Oreo Cookie or get Cookies 'n Cream Reduced Fat Ice Cream (Dreyer's Slow Churned for example) for some interesting texture.

MITCH'S SUMMERTIME BERRY SMOOTHIE


  • 1 Cup Frozen Strawberries
  • 1/4 Cup Frozen Blueberries
  • 1 Banana (peeled, duh!)
  • 1/2 Cup 1% Fat or Skim Milk
  • 1 Tbsp. Ground Flax Seed
Directions: Same as the shake, what else?

Nutritional Value (estimated): No clue, but it's super low in fat

Tips: You can use fresh fruit, but then the drink won't be frozen. Use a little less milk and toss in some ice cubes before you blend.
